Tell Us Your Good Deed

I decided to spend the rest of my life committed to rehabilitating injured people. I have seen how an injury can psychologically effect someone and I chose to help people for the rest of my life. As an Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist, it will be my obligation to help people no matter what their background is to increase their quality of life. Accidents happen and people get hurt. It is important to have someone passionate and always smiling there by your side to make your life back to the way you want it to be. To me, going into medicine was one of the most selfless life decisions I could have made for myself and pledge to help other people get healthy and happy.

Why are you participating?

Growing up I was always infatuated with my religion and decided to find ways to put it into my life. After I graduated high school, I decided to take a year off and moved to live in Israel for that year. While there I was able to volunteer and learned a lot about myself. While studying I came across a quote that translates to the following: "If I am not for myself, who will be for me? But if I am only for myself, what am 'I'? And if not now, when?" I have used this quote to better me as a person and continue to live my life the best as I can.

I have learned through many experiences that it is important to help other people. It is extremely important to be proud of the person that you are, and there is nothing to be ashamed of. We are who we are. That being said, we need to realize that if we want people to respect us for who we are, we need to respect them for who THEY are. If we don't do it now, then when will we? We have no reason to wait to accept people, to allow people to live their lives happy in their own skin. If I could leave that impact on people, I will be able to die knowing I have succeeded to break down the evil. We are who we are.
