Tell Us Your Good Deed

I see myself when I see the world. I've always been able to feel the hardship of others. Through my lived experiences having had the opportunity to work in developing countries, I have seen that the world isn't equitable to women, children, people of religious background, people with disability, and people of certain racial groups. To make a small impact in this world, I founded an international NGO in Liberia, where I was born. HVK Children's Foundation works in 6 rural schools with offices located at 44 Portland st., Worcester, and Liberia. HVK Children's Foundation work is impacting over a thousand students where we provide an e-learning system that brings rich educational resources to schools, and train teachers to deliver quality education to children attending the schools. I am also running for Worcester School Committee to help provide quality education and rich experiences for all Worcester Public School students.

Why are you participating?

I didn't know that I was "black" until I came to live in America. Labels aren't a good way to how we view humanity. As God's children, we should be seen by the measure of the human heart rather than the labels society forcibly attach on us.
