I attended an all day seminar about white privilege. It helped me to see that I am able to go into stores without being followed around and will be served within a reasonable amount of time. I expect to get what I need when I interview for a job. I expect that I will be listened to and not judged as representing anyone else but myself. I expect that should I apply for a car loan or to lease an apartment that I will be granted the loan or the lease.
I believe that too often people are labeled based on where they were born their ethnicity or their sexual preference as well as their education and skin shades. I believe that labeling is wrong. I know that I do not want to be judged by my looks, my age, my disabilities my social standing. I do not expect to be unjustly accused by because of my gender my beliefs nor my choices or or by inequality.
