Tell Us Your Good Deed

I met with leaders at the United Nations in NYC on October 17th 2016 and advised them on policys that affects immigrants around the world. Most of what I spoke on was adapted into new changes and went into effect globally which will change the way migration is viewed by the people in power who make decisions on those that are not. As it relates to migration.

Why are you participating?

Two years after I came to the US I became infect with HIV. Which greatly affected my going back to my country of origin and my stay here. I moved to a predominatly white suburban area in a northern state, where with the help of strangers I found my voice all while experiencing social issues I had no prior knowledge or experience with relating to being an immigrant, HIV+ and of color.
I have spent twenty-seven years of my life living with HIV and more than two decades of activism in service to this country with it's diverse people and culture. As a little boy born into poverty with no roads, electricity, running water on a rural island. I could not even fathom this type of future in my then mind.
