Contrary to the belief that Indigenous people were only in the past, the tribes are still here. Indigenous people have active roles in their communities and a wide array of careers, while still living the traditions and culture of their ancestors. Join Chief Ladybug and Laughing Eyes of Native Heritage New England to learn about current day Indigenous people and ask any questions you may have.

  • 10:00-10:15am Smudging ceremony (outdoors)
  • 10:15-10:25 Introduction of Massachusetts Praying Indian and Mohawk Nation
  • 10:25-11:05 Passing the Feather "An Introduction to 21st Century Indigenous and First Nation People"
  • 11:05-11:15 Questions and Answers
  • 11:15-11:30 Feast (light refreshments)

Held in the lower level of the former Unitarian Church, which is adjacent to the Library.
