The Pakachoag Hill area of Auburn is well understood as the ancestral home of the Nipmuc tribe. Indigenous tribal members including Chief Ladybug (Croatan) from Native Heritage New England, Chief Eagle Rising (Mi’kmaq) from the Greater Lowell Indian Cultural Association and Chief Blackwolf of the Nipmuc tribe, as well as other nations have come together along with Pakachoag Center and No Evil Project to bring a Powwow to the Pakachoag Hill area this fall.

A Powwow is an event that celebrates and honors indigenous cultural heritage. Like most Powwows, this event will be open to the public. It will offer an exciting and immersive way for the Central MA area to experience and learn about indigenous culture. Community support is critical to making this Powwow happen.

A preview of the October 2024 powwow, including regalia, drums, dance, food and conversation, will be held at the Pakachoag Center to introduce the greater community to the essence of Powwow and solicit community support for the upcoming larger event planned for October 2024.

If you haven't seen it yet, our Pass the Feather exhibit will also be on display!
