Tell Us Your Good Deed

I'm always an open ear when someone needs to talk it out. The little things in life can be so big for a person in need.

Why are you participating?

Because no one person can label me only I can label me. I feel more people deserve that perception.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I stop and talk to the homeless of Boston, and give them toiletry bags with some supplies. I listen to there stories and allow them to vent. It makes them feel a bit better.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I volunteer for Somerville Open Studios, helping maintain their database and website (among other duties). I also volunteer for the Somerville Arts Council's ArtBeat festival and Illuminations Tour every year.

Why are you participating?

I saw your booth at the Watch City Steampunk Festival in Waltham and was intrigued by the project. I'd like to see what other people have contributed to it.

To try to make a difference. A little kindness can go a long way.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I've used my website, podcasts and my status in the retrocentric community to combat online bullying and trolling.

Why are you participating?

I was bullied for being different, and some of the hurt lasts to this day. I want to make sure that nobody else is ever treated the say way again.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

Smiles go a long way, but I love paying for a coffee or soda for someone I don't know behind me in line. Gives them a smile and me too.

Why are you participating?

To make me smile.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I pulled out my reading glasses and gave them to a gentleman who was struggling to read his papers. He was grinning when I told him that he could keep them.

Why are you participating?

As a mental health advocate and abuse survivor, I see the derogatory effects of labels every day. By replacing negativity with positive self-talk and compassion, I am convinced we as a society can become the best versions of ourselves.
