After I was adopted, I stayed in touch with my adoption agency. Every year, when the kids flew in from Russia, I would meet them at the airport to welcome them to America and help translate. I hope that it was a friendly face and someone who understood how they were feeling.
One day I was at the grocery store and one of the customers there was handicapped and I offered to help her shop because she was in a wheelchair.
