I like to donate blood and platelets whenever I can. I gave my first donation senior year of high school and over the next few months tried to go whenever I could. At this moment, the Red Cross says I have donated about a gallon of blood over 8 appointments! I haven't gone recently, but I just got a call today so I think I'll get back into the swing of things.

Why are you participating?

I'm doing this because there was a photoshoot on my campus and I wanted to get my picture taken. I only learned about the mission of this project later on, and figured it's for the greater good. Everyone has a little bit of good in them, even if it's a little below the surface.

I picked toys from my birthday party to give to a preschool for medically complex kids like me because they needed things to play with. When I took them to the kids I gave hugs to them because I didn’t want them to be sad.

Why are you participating?

I hope that people look beyond my disabilities and see that I am a happy girl who loves animals and my family and my friends. I hope that people can learn to be nicer to people who are different
