The only way to fight evil is to reach for the humanity in others. What I've learned over the years: you do not have to believe the cruel, negative messages that people often hurl at you.

Volunteer at St. John's Nursing Home, and at church. Sew quilts for kids at Christmas through the local schools.

I have lobbied, and continue to lobby, for Transgender Rights.

Why are you participating?

Because I learned about the damage being unconsciously conditioned by stereotypes does when I moved to Washington, DC from the Connecticut suburbs. And I have a friend who is hurt by the racism still existent in this country. I think this is an amazing project!
