In my off time, I use a firefighter puppet I made named "Lieutenant Hug Me" to go to schools and teach fire safety to children. I recently did one at the Hosmer School. Also made totem poles for kids to paint at Skyview school in Leominster.

I went into Cumberland Farms and saw a group of young adults that looked like they had been working outside and they looked very hot and sweaty so I told them their soft drinks were on the Fire Dept and I picked up the tab.

As a firefighter, I have worked 43 years protecting the people of Fitchburg and worked all types of civic events and running youth sports leagues in the city.

Why are you participating?

To show the diverse make-up of our City is a great thing, and that our residents are decent, hardworking, respectable, generous people, with respect for each other, no matter the color, creed, nationality, size, or life style.
