I spent 9 days in the Dominican Republic with a group called Jersey G.O.E.S. (Group of Extraordinary Students). We took part in the Village Mountain Mission Project and began work on three houses in the village of Luperon. Along with building a physical home, we built bonds with the families we worked with and created relationships that overcame all boundaries of socioeconomic class, nationality, and language.
Diversity is the most interesting aspect about everything we do as human beings. No matter who you're with, the people around you will always have at least one thing that makes them unique. These differences should be embraced and shared with the world, not shut down and suppressed.

I volunteer for a Non-Profit Organization that teaches Music & Recording Technology to Inner-city Teenagers.
Through Soldiers' Angels, I write one letter a week to a currently deployed soldier. I hope that my little note lets them know that there are people in the States who care about them and appreciate the sacrifices that they are making for our country.
Everyone is defined by stereotypes given to them by strangers, or by themselves and it hinders us from embracing and loving the unique person we are. We should love ourselves for who we are - and who we want to be, not be confined by what the world thinks we are just based on how we look.
I support local artists, musicians and homeless animals, which are basically all the same thing, aren't they?

I helped at the local Special Olympics last year in my town in order to help give kids with disabilities the same opportunity to partake in the activities that everyone else enjoys.
