Tell Us Your Good Deed

I am a geriatric social worker and have dedicated my life to helping others at the end of their lives. I love helping people to have a good and dignified death. I have recently become a fierce advocate for LGBT elders and am fighting to raise awareness on the needs of this underserved population.

Why are you participating?

Because often times people with tattoos are labeled as hoodlums or are judged for the expression we wear on our bodies. I am tattooed and employed and I am a fabulous social worker! I am passionate about what I do and my tattoos do not limit me or make me any less of a fierce advocate.

My good deed is always giving back. Always helping the less fortunate! It's amazing what the smallest gesture can do for someone who wasn't having the best day. A smile is contagious!! :)

Why are you participating?

I'm participating because this is an awesome project. It's nice to see people of all ages supporting positivity. It's nice to read the different labels people put.

I feel so blessed. I have been given such great family, friends and opportunity. I am a big believer in "Paying it forward". I try to do something good for someone every day. Sometimes out of my comfort zone, often times as simple as making someone smile. You never know what a person is going through and you can learn a lot about yourself by talking to /helping others.

Why are you participating?

I am a photographer, so I love community projects! I am also so many more things than just 3 labels! This project is so good because often times we define ourselves moment to moment based on our success, failures or by what we want to project to others.

Why are you participating?

We need to remember that most people are really good.

I love birthdays. That is why every time one of my good friends' birthday comes up, I make sure to surprise them with a present, cake, lots of helium balloons, and something important to them.
