Tell Us Your Good Deed

I believe that it is important to end every day knowing that you somehow tried to make it the world a better place since the morning. I apply this philosophy in everything. I work as a Middle School Guidance Counselor. I go above and beyond to make sure my students are safe emotionally and mentally. I want to impact the world for the better (like a superhero.) I work hard not only to be a great counselor, but a positive mentor and role-model for all of my students. A lot of children (and adults) need someone to help guide them discover who they really are.

Why are you participating?

I love photography (and making funny faces) so this project attracted me. I also believe that everybody has a little bit of good in them. Under all the negative labels we apply to everyone there is a story to that person and their life.

So there I was hitch-hiking across the country, hungry, tired, and nearly broke. I was seeking out the true face of America, making my own personal journey to find myself as well as a deeper meaning to life. I got dropped off in a major west coast city in southern California. I asked around where I could find a metro bus station, found out where it was, and headed that way to try and catch a ride to the city limits. When I arrived there was a woman and three of her children waiting for their bus. The woman was talking on a cell phone and I overheard bits of the conversation.

I saw someone drop their wallet with several hundred dollars in cash flying around in the wind and I picked it all up and chased after her to give her the wallet and all her money back.

Why are you participating?

Our war for tolerance will never be completely done but I just hope to make it somewhat better by being an active part of the LGBT community.

Helping teenagers suffering from depression, and being a leader for those who need a role model.

Why are you participating?

As a Latino, a Satanist, a male, a pagan, or even being American, I have labels. These are all labels that come with pre-judgment and would not paint me in the best image and would send fear or discrimination, or just dislike to the eyes of an on-looker.
