I am active with various organizations at my kids' schools and sports activities. I try to set a good example for them by giving back to the community.. I am also a long time volunteer with Special Olympics Massachusetts.

My boyfriend and I were out to eat, when I noticed the man behind us was eating alone. I paid for his meal. It made his night.

Why are you participating?

I love this project and the idea of eradicating judgment and stereotypes.

I work with people with special needs. My sister Betty had encephalitis (what was then referred to as sleeping sickness) as a small child. As a result she was institutionalized from a young age. I was too young help my sister, so I help others on her behalf.

Why are you participating?

Because I love my nephew!
