Tell Us Your Good Deed

I became a second father to a person who needed one.

Why are you participating?

I spent my entire life afraid of being "queer" and denying my true self until I reached my fifties, and I'm done caring about what anyone thinks.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

Suicide prevention and mental health awareness and education, community service. Being who I needed as a kid. Being there for teenagers when they're struggling, and making them feel like they're not alone.

Why are you participating?

My struggles are used to help and empower myself, and others, turning pain into purpose.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I stayed 'til closing at work to help my friends out despite being overstimulated because they're good people who have always supported me. The least I can do is to be there for the people who have been there for me. I will always lend an ear to them.

Why are you participating?

I feel like labels put people in a cage which limits what their dreams are. Whether it be what they love, their interests, what career they want, and what truly makes them smile.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

Leader of a volunteer group, in high school organized fundraiser for Nepal earthquake.

Why are you participating?

Labels are to be embraced, never a weapon or to be ashamed of. I spent most of my life not accepting myself... not worth it.
