Tell Us Your Good Deed

I volunteer with the LGBT Youth Space in downtown San Jose, and speak on educational panels to help make people with a high degree of influence on youth's lives (such as therapists and teachers) more aware of the LGBT issues to help cultivate a more accepting future generation.

I put my friends and family above my material items. If I can make life easier by buying someone lunch or loaning them money, I will do it without hesitation. An example would be when I used the last of my extra money last winter to buy my mother an electric blanket, since she didn't have heating in her apartment.

Why are you participating?

To give my own experiences as an example so other will be able to see that, if my labels fit them, that they are not alone.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I invited a girl to sit. Seemingly simple, but she was sitting all alone during orientation and I remember being that shy wallflower at one point in my life too and all I wanted was someone to talk to me.

Why are you participating?

I would like to stand up for people who can't or won't stand up for themselves. People can be push-overs and passive and I feel someone needs to show them how to stick up for themselves and others.
