Tell Us Your Good Deed

I went on a mission trip to Mexico to help build a church. It was a beautiful experience that I will never forget. ^_^

Why are you participating?

It really takes a toll on your self esteem when you feel judged about your weight. I am learning to love my body even if it doesn't meet society's standards.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

You would never know by looking at me but I have saved lives working as a 911 EMT. On your worst day I bring my best.

Why are you participating?

I've updated every year since I started going to the tattoo and arts festival in MA and just believe in the message. Hate is destructive.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I've saved and rehabilitated many animals over the years; I always try to hold door for anyone; help those who need it however I can, be them stranger or friend; and I'm always willing to listen to and understand anyone; etc!

Why are you participating?

Because I think this project is a beautiful idea!

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I volunteer as Board President for The Revolving Museum, a nomadic art institution that is dedicated to transforming and revitalizing abandoned or under used spaces into innovative community arts projects.

Why are you participating?

I grew up in the inner city of Boston, and I was the only mixed race child in my immediate family. My mother and siblings were all white. We were very often the subject of discussion among the neighborhood, and were labeled all kinds of things.
Labels can hurt.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I volunteered to be a secret sister during my husbands deployment. Along with little gifts I like to send a card with a handwritten encouragement note and an inspirational quote.

Why are you participating?

I have been "labeled" more times than I can possibly count. From family to people on the street-they see me as a degenerate due to my tattoos. They call me "lazy" because I work from home pursing my dreams of writing a novel. I am more than what they name me.
