Tell Us Your Good Deed

I volunteer for a variety of causes: environmental, social, art, education. I give my time, my legal skills, and my treasure. I've gone to the Dominican Republic with one daughter to volunteer in the bateys (sugar cane farming villages) and am going back in April with my other daughter. Mostly, though, I try to remember to express my gratitude to people and love to make folks smile with my humor.

Why are you participating?

Labels are so limiting. Yeah, I'm a lawyer but I'm not a jerk.

I pick up trash when I am out for walks.

Why are you participating?

I have always been labeled as "something" by people who don't understand what an artist is or what one looks like. I am also heavily tattooed. I have been called a convict and a freak by total strangers.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I'm the friend you call at 2am when you're in the middle of nowhere and need a gallon of gas. I volunteer on crew with Cycle for the Cause every year.

Why are you participating?

This is an amazing project and cause. Labels have haunted me for years. Here's to owning all the good and bad, they've made me who I am and I'm a better person because of it.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I try to be supportive of the people in my life and make sure they know how much they are loved! I've given many hours of my life as a volunteer and as a staff member of a few non-profits. Currently, I help fundraise for a school and a good portion of what we raise goes towards financial aid.

Why are you participating?

It's empowering to see what people have to say about themselves.

I volunteer at the Hanover Theatre, I'm a member of the family health center board of directors, an anchor at the WCCTV13 local channel and I volunteer at a local restaurant called Sol Of Mexico. I guess my point is volunteer and do good things to change our world.

Why are you participating?

We are living a different life in this generation, we have to accept people with open mind, sexuality, race, religion and with different point of view. Love yourself cuz nobody knows who u really are! Don't hide yourself from yourself!!!

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I am a member of the Outreach Committee at my church where I volunteer for various organizations. In addition, I have organized, and pay for, different clubs (craft club, movie/book club, and game club) after school for those who aren't necessarily involved in sports or music.

Why are you participating?

As a teacher, I see how labels effect the students I work with. Frankly, I'm just sick of it!!!

I created the POP (Power of Pink) Nia Tour 2011 to benefit the PINK Revolution, a Central Mass breast cancer charity that funds research & support for local breast cancer patients. I will be bringing women together to dance (Nia) at 4 locations this October (breast cancer awareness month) in celebration for our feminine energy & power.

Why are you participating?

I love the idea of turning labels into a positive thing, and seeing people with labels differently. I love charity. The faces make it more personal.

I am one of the original members of Turtle Boy Urban Gardening. I've helped take care of our community by participating in their weeding parties for two years. I also like to help animals in need.

Why are you participating?

Because no one should be judged or picked on because of what they do, like watch, or love.
