Tell Us Your Good Deed

Donating food to my children's school for their Backpack Program. This was a great opportunity for my children and I to work together to collect food and donate it to a good cause that directly impacts children they know. I want them to learn the importance of giving back.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I am the volunteer leader of an organization that educates about LGBTQ+ concerns, creates community, researches LGBTQ+ concerns, and advocates for LGBTQ+ positive policies.

Why are you participating?

Because our labels while define us also limit us. Labels are social constructs and are not really real.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I shoveled two of my neighbor's driveways when we had that real heavy snow in mid November '18

Why are you participating?

I participate because queer/trans visibility is important. I participate because I believe Troy's project to be meaningful.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I was shopping at my local grocery store when I noticed a mom that was trying to pick up a canister of formula from the bottom shelf. She couldn't quite make it because she was wearing her infant on her chest. I offered to reach down and grab it for her. She was teary eyed and thankful. She let me know that she doesn't have any help until her husband comes home later. I told her I was just happy to lend a hand.

Why are you participating?

I want the world to know that queer people of color exist, and we have the capacity to love and help just like everyone else in the world.
