Tell Us Your Good Deed

I am a Social Activist! I stand up for what I believe in, am not afraid to defend myself or others.

Why are you participating?

I am participating because I liked the idea of breaking down stereotypes!!! I have been stereotyped, stigmatized, discriminated against etc. And I fit into many boxes that have controversy and/or ignorance/ lack of research.

I recently raised over $400 for the UMass Cancer Research facility. And it was simple, just ask. This is something I think we should all be a little more open to, asking and receiving as well as hearing and giving. Finding needs and filling them, whether it be a favor for a friend or defending the rights of strangers.

Why are you participating?

I think its important to realize that while we categorize ourselves every day: by which bathroom we use, by which sports team we cheer for, by what we order at a restaurant, it's not those things that define us but rather the way they fit together in their own unique jig saw puzzle to make e

I'm always there for others, whether it be to prevent a suicide, or just someone to talk to when in an emotional situation. I enjoy making people smile with either a stupid joke, or listening to music.

Why are you participating?

To tell people that they shouldn't judge others. Even if you know someone's situation, doesn't make it ok to call them out on it. Be there, be supportive.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I volunteer with my Dad to help veterans. I collect food for the needy. I stand up for others in the face of bullies. I accept that we are all different, and look to see how those differences mesh together to make a better, stronger group.

Why are you participating?

I am more than a kid.
I am more than a bookworm, or sports obsessed boy.
I am a leader in the making. I am strong of mind, of will and of spirit. I have Korean blood in me, but also Acadian - so I am by nature a survivor.
I will make a positive impact on this world.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

Looking for ways to advance social justice for all people. Be interested in our fellow creatures on the earth, to assure you do no harm.

Why are you participating?

It took many years to realize I was so very privileged, and once I understood that I knew we can not advance as a species if we don't advance the least priveleged among us.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

This year I spent my Christmas day as a face-painter as part of an event for underprivileged kids and their families.

Why are you participating?

I think it's great for people to feel encouraged to engage in acts that will benefit us despite our labels and across identities.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I just like to think I am a really good friend...or I try to be most of the time. That's my main goal in life, to be a good friend and good person.

Why are you participating?

I want the evil taken out of my body!! I recently did a really bad thing and I am trying to make it better....or at least try and redeem my misdeeds with better ones. :)

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I work at an adventure/zip-line park. Over the course of the season I interact with thousands of people, from a variety of different races / cultures / countries / religions / ages / genders / sexual orientations. At the park I have the opportunity to treat everyone equally and with respect, as well as create a safe space for the variety of people have fun with their friends and families. It isn't groundbreaking good deed work or anything, but it is a gratifying feeling to know that you helped create a positive experience for people.

Why are you participating?

It is fun!
