Tell Us Your Good Deed

I've done a lot of volunteer work at an animal shelter in my city.

Why are you participating?

The concept stuck out to me. Labels can be an evil thing and I like to know that there's something out there that wants to address that.

I let people merge in front of me on I-290. Every day.

Why are you participating?

Many people have very distinct (and not very flattering) notions about female executives and business leaders. We aren't all cut from the same cloth. The foul words often used to describe powerful women say more about the speaker than the women.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I recently walked in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's Out of the Darkness walk. I wear their wristband and advocate for others to talk openly about mental health issues. I do this to put myself out there, because in similarity I hope that others may find camaraderie and, talk about their struggles, knowing they aren't alone.

Why are you participating?

Mental health is on the cusp of being something we talk about. It is beginning to shed the skin of something we refuse to see. People are being heard. As an outspoken mental health advocate, this project represents everything I believe about shattering the stigma surrounding labels.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

This past April and May I helped a friend get food after he had hurt his leg on the ice in the winter. It was good help for him since he was housebound and unable to get out of his house for a long time.

Why are you participating?

Because I want to be part of something good and show people that I am good.

I always try to look at both sides of the story putting myself in the other's shoes as best I can. I think this is the only way we can truly achieve harmony. Not always successful, but it is my goal.

Why are you participating?

As a librarian I always say, you can't judge a book by its cover. Let's not judge people by their labels either.

This is a very cool project.
