Tell Us Your Good Deed

I love helping others and changing the lives of many with joy and happiness. I have gone to Florida with QU Campus Ministry Freshmen year of college and volunteered at a School for pregnant teenagers; then sophomore and junior year of college I went to Nicaragua with the Albert Schweitzer Institute where I help and lead building schools and planting gardens for the children of cities near Leon; and senior year of college I am going to Battle Creek Michigan to help build homes with Habitat for Humanity. To be able to put a smile on another's face is something that I value a lot!

I've participated in many organizations and events that benefit children with cancer. In high school, I was the President of a club that raised money for the Tomorrow's Children fund. Now, at Quinnipiac University, I am the current PR chair and future President of the Irish Club which sponsor events and raises money to be donated to the St. Baldrick's foundation.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

Every month I spend six hours volunteering at the American Red Cross helping the occupational school director organize classes for people to take. I have been volunteering since my freshman year in college and I can't imagine a more rewarding position. I get to make a difference in my community and give people opportunities to educate themselves and improve their lives!

Tell Us Your Good Deed

My fraternity hosted an event called Hall Wars and this past fall we raised $10,600 for AIDS Project New Haven.

Why are you participating?

I'm participating because I believe diversity intertwines each student at Quinnipiac University to form stronger bonds with each and every individual. We must promote diversity and accept each person for who they are

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I am a Resident Assistant at Quinnipiac University and find it to be a very rewarding experience. Everyday I get to help my residents with things that are impacting their lives, whether it is a small matter or something more significant. The most rewarding part is knowing that I am making a difference in their lives and helping them to make a difference in the lives of other people.

Why are you participating?

I want to help others understand that they are not alone. Too often people get so caught up in judging others for their differences rather than celebrating the uniqueness that is each person. It is time to start sharing our awesome gifts with the world.

I traveled to Guatemala with the Albert Schweitzer Institute at Quinnipiac University to plant and paint a school for the impoverished indigenous people. I also love giving compliments!

Why are you participating?

I am involved in this project because I believe in the goodness of mankind.
